Magical Biomes: Forests

A silverwood is a tall, magical tree with pale, silver colored wood, sparkling blue leaves, and a thick trunk. Most silverwoods tend to generate with at least one pure aura node in their heartwood, and shimmerleafs are usually found growing close by. Trees with nodes inside them will spread the magical forest biome. The wood of this tree has an assortment of mystical uses, the most notable being the silverwood wand core, a necessary component to crafting the third and highest tier of wand.
They also have a rare 1/60 chance to appear in any given chunk in forest hills, birch forest hills, and any biome with Minecraft Forge's MAGICAL biome type that isn't magical forest or tainted land.
The trunks of silverwoods grown from saplings will generate between 7 and 12 blocks tall, inclusive. Trunks of naturally generated silverwoods in the magical forest biome may generate between 8 and 13 blocks tall, while naturally generated silverwoods elsewhere may generate 7 and 11 blocks tall. The trunk will grow no taller than 2 blocks below an obstruction.
Silverwood saplings are also very useful. When they grow into trees, they have a chance of spawning a pure node within them, although a node will not spawn if there is another pure node too close. This node will slowly convert the area around it into a magical forest, and will both remove taint from the area, and prevent surrounding taint from encroaching. (Magical Forest is one of the three magical biomes where mana beans can be grown.) The magical forest can be reverted by an Ethereal Bloom or a "bare" pure node. Silverwood saplings can be purchased from a Pech Forager.
A silverwood-grown node can be collected as a Node in a Jar. This will require cutting away the wood around it to make room for the "jar" construct. (Be careful with that Axe of the Stream!) Note that the capture will destroy the node's silverwood block, leaving a "bare" pure node. When placed, this will no longer produce magical forest, but it will revert territory changed by any of the invasive magical biomes, back to its original biome. This applies to Tainted Lands, Eerie biomes, or even Magical Forest.
Unlike an Overworld map, a Magic Map does not show the lay of the land, but instead, the various biomes of the Twilight Forest and their boundaries in various colours. As such, one can ascertain what area of the forest they are in, as well as nearby regions at a glance. In particular, it can be easily seen on a map where some biomes are surrounded by others, which may be under magical protection. For example, an explorer will not be able to travel into the Fire Swamp without first defeating a Minoshroom deep in its Labyrinth.
The map's magical focus is also able to detect major landmarks, marking them with distinct icons onto the map. Combined with the biome mapping, an explorer should have no trouble in determining where they are and where they want to venture to in the Twilight Forest.
Mangrove forests also provides habitat and refuge to a wide array of wildlife such as birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals and plants. Estuarine habitats with coastal mangrove shorelines and tree roots are often important spawning and nursery territory for juvenile marine species including shrimp, crabs, and many sport and commercial fish species such as redfish, snook and tarpons.
Mangrove forests provide nature experiences for people such as birding, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and the therapeutic calm and relaxation that comes from enjoying peaceful time in nature. They also provide economic benefits to communities as a nursery for commercial fish stocks.
Unfortunately, there are many challenges that place mangrove forests under threat. Human impact such as dredging, filling, water pollution from herbicides and development can lead to mangrove erosion and habitat destruction. When mangrove forests are cleared and destroyed, they release massive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change.
An important part of our ongoing efforts to restore natural habitat at Blowing Rocks Preserve is the restoration of red mangroves to the shoreline. The importance of mangrove planting at our preserves cannot be understated, to help protect and restore this vital Florida treasure. TNC continues protection and restoration efforts of our important forests, from the Panhandle to the Keys, on behalf of people and nature.
This biome is made up of large scale magical fae houses and massive cathedrals to give it a fairy-like fantasy like world to Trove. Fae Wilds are home to many different kinds of Faes, living pitcher plants, and fairy-like spiders, bugs, and bats.
The purity wand focus is an item that can be affixed to a Thaumcraft 4 wand or staff to reverse effects of taint and other magical biomes added by Thaumcraft. It is added by BlightBuster, a core mod made exclusively for Blightfall.
Upon right-clicking on a block with a wand or staff with this focus equipped, a 3x3 square area centered on the block clicked will have its biome changed from tainted land, eerie, or magical forest back to its original underlying biome.
Utilizing this focus in the Silverwood Grove or at Eerie Island is not encouraged, as those portions of the map are naturally generated as magical forest and eerie biomes, respectively. While tainted land is still cleaned up effectively and replaced with the original biomes, this focus will also endlessly attempt to clean the magical forest and eerie biomes it leaves behind. This causes vis to be needlessly drained every time a right-click is registered, which can rapidly drain a wand or staff's vis if right-click is held down for as little as a few seconds.
Pech are small creatures who can be found in magical biomes (Eerie and Magical Forests). These creatures have 15 hearts, or 30 points of health, and 1 point of armor. They are similar in nature to Zombie Pigmen, neutral mobs who will attack when provoked, alerting other nearby Pech. They attack for between .5 and 1 heart, 1 to 2 points, of damage with a bow, or can also attack by hand for 2 hearts, 4 points, of damage.
The mod adds over 60 new biomes, ranging from magical forests to alpine mountains and everything inbetween. The scale of the content is truly breathtaking and an excellent addition to your modpack. Unlike many other mods, Biomes O'Plenty provides excellent intercompatability and rarely clashes with the theme of your modpack.
Thick, tall forests of coniferous trees generate throughout the world. These provides excellent sources of wood, but dangerous paths to travel during the night and day. Pairing a combat or realism mod can create quite the challenge.
If gamers cannot wait until 1.30, then they should consider install a biome mod, adding some magical and detailed new lands to traverse and build upon. There are some fantastic Minecraft biome mods available online, free to download and play and in this updated list five more are added that add some really beautiful landscapes.
Back to less eerie biomes, the Spheric biome mod not only includes four new biomes with a magical flavor to them but also includes a new ore and new wood type with furniture players can craft. The ore, Ascenda, can even be used to make brand-new tools.
There are now rainforests and dunes, which are significantly elevated versions of the vanilla jungle and desert. These two new biomes and their variants are also come with a bunch of new items for players to discover during their exploration adventures.
This Minecraft biome mod does exactly what it says on the tin, it adds a Vibrant Journey into vanilla Minecraft. It improves the bland-looking forests, adding tall grass, fallen trees, pinecones and much more. Adding so much depth and exploration into the game.
Mountains are high and expansive, forests are dense and clusters and rivers actually flow correctly throughout the map, meaning travel by boat is a possibility throughout the improved landscape. Not changing too much too vanilla Minecraft, TerraForged is a nice edition that makes Minecraft look more like real life. A texture pack would help improve this and help it become of the best Minecraft biome mods.
